What to expect

Valor is a Spanish chocolate maker founded in 1881 in Villajoyosa, in the province of Alicante, by Valeriano López Lloret, who began as a travelling chocolate maker. Its café at Postigo de San Martín 7 is very close to Plaza del Callao and serves the house speciality, chocolate with churros, all year round.

The café is classic and simple, with marble tables, wooden chairs and an outdoor terrace, spread over three floors. Besides hot chocolate you can have coffee, juices, ice cream, granizados, pastries or a full brunch, and there is a sales area for bonbons and other chocolate products. Churros and chocolate can also be taken away.
